Emmanuel Mennonite Church was founded in 1996. We are a member of the Central Plains Conference (the regional district) of Mennonite Church USA. We are a Peace Church, a group of people dedicated to following Jesus everywhere in every way. Mennonite churches and denominations trace their ancestry to the radical Anabaptist wing of the Reformation, in the early 16th Century. Similarly to theProtestants, Anabaptists insist on the authority of Jesus Christ of the Bible, on salvation only by grace through faith in Jesus (not by works) because of the atoning work of His life, death and resurrection, and believe in the concept of the Trinity (God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit as one). But they have also insisted on separation of church and state, believers’ baptism, and non-violent resistance, preferring to fight evil as Jesus does, through prayer, loving and sacrificial service, and faithful, costly witness.
